The Import/ Export function in TRACCESS CI is designed to facilitate the batch import/ export of information between TRACCESS databases and other systems. The format of the files being passed is the only information that must be shared between the systems. The transfer of information is accomplished using flat text files. Transfer of information between TRACCESS and another system is based on the following assumptions:
Export of information from TRACCESS should export only information that has been updated since the last export.
Import of information into TRACCESS must assume that all information coming in is up to date.
Information shared between systems must have an owner, which requires:
A single source of entry
Multiple points of access and reporting
The Import function transfers three types of data:
Employee and Organization Unit information being updated to TRACCESS. This means that information transferred to TRACCESS will be considered correct and will overwrite the current information
Legacy training records from other system(s) into TRACCESS
CAP Session Objects - from a specifically configured Microsoft Excel spreadsheet into TRACCESS CI. This is an Enterprise Feature and further information is only available if your installation includes this feature. Please contact TTG Support for more information.
The Export function transfers one type of data:
Summarized Learning Records from TRACCESS into an ERP such asPeopleSoft, BAAN, SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle HR.
