Process Manager - Process

When a Process is selected in the Process Manager, the context view contains two tabs:

Tree right-click

• Cut

• Copy

• Paste

• Delete - this deletes the Process Name and the Sub Processes that currently exist within the Process.  

The Tasks that existed in the Sub Processes remain in the database, and can be accessed by right-clicking on a different Sub Process and selecting Add/ Remove Tasks.

• New Sub Process - this creates a new Sub Process, and places it in inline edit mode.

• Change Permission Sets - calls up the Change Permission Set dialog.  By default, an SME will have the default SME rights that have been set by your System Owner in the Role Permission Sets dialog.  If you wish for SMEs who are responsible for this particular Process to have a different set of rights than the default, the new permission set must first be created in the Role Permission Set dialog, and subsequently assigned to this process here.

• Break Inheritance - this option will only appear if the currently selected Process is a Derived Process.  Derived Processes are created as subsets of another Process.  Any changes that are completed at the original process level are reflected in the Derived Process.  If you wish to break this link, and make the Derived Process a Process on its own, select this option.

Once you have broken the inheritance of a derived process, it can no longer be reconnected to its original process.  This option is always available to System Owners, but the ability to Break Inheritance can be removed from any SME Role Permission Set.  

• Rename - puts the Process name in inline edit mode, ready to be modified.

Properties

• Description - 

• Inherited Process - This field is only present when a Derived Process is selected.  It exists as a Read Only field, and lists the name of the Process that was used to create the Derived Process.

• Name - This is the name of the Process.  In the case of Derived Processes, while viewing the name in the tree, the Process name will appear as Derived Process Name : Process Name.  However, in the property itself, it only lists the Derived Process Name.

If an Org Unit is assigned a Derived Process, they will not see any difference between this process and any other.  The addition of the inherited process name in the Process Manager is for an SMEs benefit only.
