If you want to have a Subject Matter Expert create simple assessment questions, and be able to import them into TRACCESS CI, the import format from the TRACCESS 7.x series can still be used.
To begin, an explanation of the letters and their meanings is required.
A – (formerly Ask) – Possible – this type of question becomes part of the assessment pool for this Task
M – (formerly Must Ask) – Mandatory – this type of question is deemed very important by the SME, and is therefore asked every time on the Knowledge Assessment
R – Requalifier – this is a special type of question that is added to a Knowledge Assessment when a change or revision occurs to a resource attached to the Task. The question will be written about the contents of the change
- (hyphen) – Not Used –you can set this type of question to never appear in the practice and always appear in the final. This ensures that Learners are not simply taking the test over and over to memorize the answers. This question will test whether or not the Learner has actually learned the material
The format of the import is as follows:
An example of the Code is as follows:
The following conditions must be observed:
Question Text and Answer Text cannot be longer than 254 characters
The initial Code must start at the top of the document (in other words, there cannot be any spaces before the first Code)
The file must be saved as *.txt
Each line must be separated by a hard carriage return (it is sometimes easiest to check your import files by turning the on – available if using Microsoft Word only, not available in Notepad).
There cannot be any spaces between the characters of the code or at the end of the code.
There is only a single blank line between questions.
The maximum number of answers for a question is 4. The minimum number of answers is 2.
Only a single answer can be correct.
You must ensure that your code applies to your question. For example, if a question is True/ False, the number of answers is 2. Therefore a code of MM41 would be incorrect – since there are not 4 answers in this question.
Answers are always randomized, so refrain from using questions with “All of the above” or “None of the above” as answers. Use “All of these” or “None of these” instead.
A screen capture of a test question in 7.x format is displayed in Notepad.
