The Event Creation Wizard is used to set up two types of events with five different event responses. The two types of events are Time and Employee Task. The five responses include Message, Report, Import Employees, Archive Employees, and Import Learning Records. For detailed help on Events, visit the Interpret Events page.
A Time event is generated at a particular point in time. For example:
To generate a Qualification Report every week/ month/ etc
To send a message to your employees twice a month as a reminder to complete their timesheets
To send a message to your managers every quarter as a reminder to complete their employee planning/ budget allocations
If you have another system that also contains employee and/or learning record information, to synchronize an import of this information with the other system. For example, the other system may be scheduled to export information to a particular directory on Friday nights, and an event could be created to import this information into TRACCESS on Saturday mornings.
An Employee/Task event means that the event will occur when the task reaches a particular state. For example:
If the trigger is About to Elapse with a number of days of 10, you can generate a message to send to affected Learners 10 days before their Task elapses, as a reminder to log into TRACCESS to complete it.
If the trigger is Complete, the Supervisor can be sent a message that a particular Learner that they are responsible for has completed their Task.
If the trigger is Assessment Attempts Limit Reached, the Supervisor can be sent a message that a Learner has been locked out of their Final Assessment Attempts.
In this case, you will have to unlock their assessment using the procedure here, but you may also attempt to find out if there is a problem. Why has this person been locked out?
When you get to the last page of the wizard, you are asked to name your event. Read the examples provided above to determine which type of event you wish to create, and select an appropriate name.
